Maximise the success of your e-health application

The NASSS website is designed for anyone developing e-health. E-health applications are often complex, which can make successful implementation challenging. The NASSS website is divided into two parts: Part 1 helps you map out complexities across seven domains, while Part 2 provides guidance on reducing these complexities. We recommend starting with Part 1 and using NASSS as early as possible in the development of your e-health application.

Part 2

Explore the Domains for Guidance and Suggestions

Once you have assessed the complexity of your e-health application, you can explore ways to reduce it. Each domain includes practical suggestions.

The NASSS tool covers all key aspects of implementation and provides hands-on tools to help you get started immediately.

E-Health application

NASSS supports both the development and evaluation of e-health applications. It is well known that such applications often fail. NASSS provides tools to increase the likelihood of success. The NASSS toolkit is research-based, see https://www.jmir.org/2017/11/e367/

Complexity

E-health applications are often complex, comprising multiple interconnected components, not all of which are fully under the control of the developers.

The contribution of the NASSS toolkit

The more complex an e-health application, the higher the odds that issues may arise. NASSS helps you identify complexity within your application, including uncertainties, interdependencies, and potential unintended consequences. It also offers tools to manage and reduce this complexity, for example by simplifying certain aspects of your e-health application.
